Tomorrow, Sunday, Dec. 7, marks the 67th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Those who remember the event call it "the war that changed the world."

Ohio Governor Ted Strickland has issued a proclamation in honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and has ordered all state flags at public buildings and grounds to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Sunday.

President George W. Bush has also issued a proclamation urging all federal agencies

and interested organizations, groups, and individuals to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff this Dec. 7 in honor of those who died as a result of their service at Pearl Harbor.

In Ohio, there is estimated to be 125,000 World War II veterans remaining, with about 114 veterans dying each day across the country.

When the WWII Veterans Memorial was completed in Washington, D. C., there were two million names not registered with the Registry of Remembrance at the Memorial.

Louis Grubel of Circleville, a WWII veteran, has been compiling military backgrounds of Pickaway County veterans of WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam,

Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan, as well as peacetime veterans to be added to the registry.

Grubel feels that all veterans deserve to be registered, living or deceased, in their proper memorial, in gratitude for their service to their country.

To register a veteran, send a copy of the veterans discharge papers along with a copy of a service photo (no larger than 2 x 3) to Grubel at P. O. Box 69, Circleville, OH 43113.

Registered veterans from Pickaway County will also be registered with the Soldiers Monumental Association at Memorial Hall.

All Army, Air Force, Wac, and National Guard will by registered with the Army
